Our name epitomises what we do and the place in which we do it. Should we fail to live up to our name, then we are letting both us and the local community down.


Our entrepreneurial adventure first began

In August 1988, the Fontaneto family began its entrepreneurial journey and founded Fontaneto S.r.l. in Cavaglio d’Agogna; a small commune in the province of Novara, Italy.


Moved to a new, more modern factory

By dint of the company’s unwavering commitment and high-quality products, it expanded rapidly and in 1994, moved to a new, more modern production facility in Fontaneto d’Agogna (NO). The 7,000 m2 roofed premises covered a total surface area of 25,000 m2


We became one of the first Italian companies to invest in traceability

Traceability is an essential component of our transparency because it ensures the quality, safety and efficiency of our products. For this reason, we were one of the first Italy-based companies to invest in traceability software.


A new sustainable path was followed

The entire roof of the pasta factory was installed with solar panels, becoming the first company in the province of Novara to implement such a large photovoltaic system. We currently self-generate 25% of our own energy needs.


BRC & IFS certifications The safety of a large-scale industry is guaranteed

Fontaneto obtained the prestigious IFS (International Food Standard) and BRC (British Retail Consortium) certifications which attest to the key food safety goals achieved along the entire supply chain, such as raw material quality, employee well-being and factory cleanliness.

2019 / 2021

The new Fontaneto generation joined the company

Alessio paved the way, followed by Eleonora, after studying and training both in Italy and abroad. Both chose to follow in their family’s footsteps and work at Fontaneto.

The I.P.I.Lar processing method (acronym for Hydration, Pre-dough, Dough, Adjustable Automatic Lamination) is the most innovative system in the world for pasta processing. Thanks to a totally cold production process that eliminates mechanical stress, it preserves the qualities of the raw materials intact.
The result is a rough, elastic pastry with the unmistakable aroma of hand-knitted dough.
